Welcome/Upcoming Attraction

May I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas! May the true meaning of Christmas abide in your hearts all year round. I pray your children will see Christ in all you do during the Christmas season. We always love going to church on Christmas Eve, because it puts the focus where it should be.

Hopefully, in January I will introduce CWM Coaching Tips. The coaching tips will be delivered by email daily and help you as you grow in your relationship with Christ. Stay tuned for the upcoming announcement.

Interview

Jennifer was graciously willing to be interviewed this month. Jennifer thanks for taking time to answer the questions. Jennifer is a 30 year old married CWM who lives in the United States. She has two boys ages 14 and 6. Jennifer is an administrative specialist for the Department of Transportation in her state.

Jennifer shares the following joys of being a CWM: There are so many joys of being a CWM. # 1 is having the Lord in my life to help guide me in my decision making at work and home. # 2 is having the great comforter in my heart when I am having a bad day. # 3 having my best friend (Jesus) at work with me everyday when the devil tries to deceive me and tell me I am no good.

How do you struggle as a CWM? Probably like most CWMs I get myself over loaded sometimes. Not only do I work full-time, take care of my family’s needs, but also I am also very involved in my local Church. I teach children ages 3-10 on Sunday and Wednesday nights. I love being able to teach my son in Church and be with him, but sometimes there is not enough of me to go around and I can feel a bit overwhelmed! I am sure you all feel this way so I am not alone!

Her favorite Bible Verse is: Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” This verse promises that if we seek God first and heavenly things (not fleshly or temporary) that everything in life will fall into place and be as it should be. In the working world they will tell you that you need to put yourself first to succeed! I do not believe that for a minute! If you want real success and JOY in your life, you have to put Jesus first, others, then yourself last. When you seek to make yourself happy first you will only end up miserable (Believe me, I have tried that and succeeded).

God is teaching Jennifer to be organized so that my home and life can flow more smoothly. He is also teaching me that I can’t do anything without seeking him daily (Believe me, I have tried and failed). A Holy God actually wants to spend time with us!

Jennifer shares these words of Encouragement for other Christian Working Moms: Don’t be so hard on yourself and remember with God all things are possible! He doesn’t expect us to do it alone. Jesus should be the first one we run to when we have a bad day, when there is a tragedy in the family, when we feel things aren’t as they should be, etc. His grace is sufficient for us in our time of need and he is the only one who can truly bring comfort! Don’t start your day without him!

Jennifer reminds us to remember to laugh a lot and smile. The Bible says that laughter is good like a medicine. Show your co-workers that there is joy in your heart and there is something different about you. Really give them something to talk about!!

Thanks so much Jennifer for reminding us to laugh. Often Christians seem downcast all the time. Who would want to accept Christ to be a “grump”? Of all people, we should be the happiest on the earth. Also, thanks for reminding us to seek ye first and not the world’s way.

Final Thoughts

Sometimes the busyness of the Christmas season often keeps us from worshipping God. Take time to be quiet and be in awe of the miracle of our Savior’s birth. Don’t let the blessed story ever get stale. As CWMs we have all ready received the best gift ever, the gift of salvation. Let us make sure that we teach our children about the best gift they will receive as well.

See you in 2008!!! Can you believe it?

Till next time,
