I don’t know about you, but Christmas seems to be coming
very fast this year. I’m just trying to keep up. I would like
to wish all the CWM subscribers and their families a Blessed Christmas
and a Happy New Year. May Christ be the center of this Christmas
season and worshipped every day. There will not be a CWM Interview
this month. I will see you again in January 2014
Article – Mary Did You Know
I love listening to Christmas music. The other day I was listening
to the Christmas song, Mary Did you know? The song asks whether
Mary knew all the things her baby boy would do and one day be the
King. The song got me to thinking about our own children. My children
are 19 and 16 now. I had no idea when they were born what God would
do in their lives and mine.
Something I have been pondering for some time now is how we grow
as parents just as our children grow. When my children were babies
I remember my biggest concerns were about sleeping through the night,
potty training, etc. Now those concerns move to career choices,
marriage or not, and a host of other decisions.
What I’m learning and holding onto is the presence of God.
He will never leave me nor forsake me. He is always there for me
to bring my concerns. He never fails to give me wisdom, hope, and
One of the names given to Jesus as a babe was Immanuel, God with
us. There is so much richness in that name. The Son of God left
all the glory of heaven to come live with us. He also gave us the
gift of the Holy Spirit so we still have Him with us. Our salvation
is the best Christmas gift we could ever receive and with that we
accept the extravagant gift of His presence.
Mary did not know all that her baby son Jesus would do. We don’t
know all that our children will do. We do know that no matter what
happens in our life we have the best gift of all Jesus Christ.
One of our favorite Christmas traditions is we always read the
Christmas story out of Luke 2 before opening presents. The story
never grows old. God’s gift to us is truly mind blowing. May
we always have thankful hearts.
Till next time,
