I apologize for not getting out a January CWM newsletter. My life
has become a little hectic here lately. To the best of my knowledge
I have been writing the CWM newsletters for 12+ years or more. If
you would like to read previous articles you can find them at: http://www.kimberlychastain.com/newsletters/archives.htm.
One of the first articles I wrote was entitled, “Renee’s
Mommy is here!” It was about my realization of my new identity
as a Mom. To this day I’m probably best known as Renee’s
Mom or Zachary’s Mom. A title I hold dearly. Well “little”
Renee will be graduating from college and getting married this May.
Wow, does time fly. So, we have had some good times working on wedding
planning. My goal as always has been to do a monthly newsletter
that blesses and encourages you. When I started the CWM website
there were no websites dedicated to encouraging CWMs. There were
plenty with negative feedback for CWMs. Today, there are several
websites to encourage CWMs. I’m prayerfully asking for God’s
direction on whether or not to continue the newsletters. I would
appreciate your prayers as well. Thanks for reading all these years.
A subject near and dear to my heart is teaching our children about
God and his many wonderful characteristics. If you have that desire
as well, check out my new ebook The ABCs of God’s Character.
It is a fun ebook for parents and children to do together. To find
out more go to: http://www.kimberlychastain.com/abcbook.htm.
Prayer Partner Needed
I have a CWM who is requesting a prayer partner. Prayer partners
meet virtually and agree to pray for one another’s needs.
If you would like a prayer partner, please send an email to Kimberly@kimberlychastain.com
with prayer partner in the subject heading. Thanks in advance for
Article – Will Those Who Come Behind Us Find us Faithful?
I’m going to date myself a little here, but one of my favorite
Christian Music Artist around the time of my marriage was Steve
Green. He still performs today. One of his songs has been stuck
in my head recently. The song is entitled, “Find Us Faithful”.
You can listen to it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s392HyzQ79M.
The theme of the song is will those who come after us look back
and find we were faithful. There is absolutely nothing more important
to pass onto your children than a Godly heritage. I have even been
convicted lately that I need to pray for future grandchildren. Our
prayers are eternal. I want my family to be known through the years
as followers of God. When our world starts saying my Christian beliefs
are old-fashioned or I’m not being tolerant I want to stand
up for God’s Word. My beliefs are not my own they were paid
for by my Savior and I follow His word. I want my children, my grandchildren,
my great grandchildren and the generations to follow to be known
as ones who stood for Biblical truth no matter the cost.
Can I give you a modern day example? You may have heard that 21
Egyptian Coptic Christians were beheaded by ISIS for their faith.
I have read their dying words were Jesus Lord Savior and Yeshua!
Faithful till the end. Do you know that Coptic Christians can trace
their lineage all the way back to the time of Christ? Coptic Christians
are most often Egyptian and they trace back to the time where Jesus
went to Egypt as an infant to avoid Herod. There have been Coptic
Christians ever since Jesus walked on earth. They have also been
persecuted numerous times over the centuries, but they still stand
firm. I have heard numerous stories of how the persecution of Christians
all over the world currently is leading to an exponential growth
in new Christians. God is using what people meant for evil for good.
Depending on the age of your children you may want to get a calendar
from the Voice of the Martyrs. You can find them at www.persecution.com.
We pray nightly for the people on the calendar. There are so many
ways your family can help the families of martyrs. Persecution of
Christians in the 20th century was more than all the other centuries
combined and the 21st century looks to be no different.
Is it likely our children will be martyred for Christ? Probably
not. Yet, we do need to stand up for Biblical truth. If each generation
gives in just a little to the world’s changing definition
of truth then in a few years no one will stand for absolute Biblical
So, I urge you and myself to be found faithful. I pray that we
will be prayer warriors for this generations and future generations
We need to teach our children at a young age that Christians all
over the world experience a different life than we do. Many Christians
live in poverty, are kept from getting jobs due to their faith,
and literally don’t know if they will live to see tomorrow.
The Bible tells us to live is Christ to die is gain. Those are sobering
words. Keep the persecuted and their families in your prayers.
