Final Thoughts
Welcome
Do you get snow days for your
children where you live? I live in South Carolina
and our snow days are few and far between.
We may get snow tomorrow and my kids are anxiously
awaiting a snow day. I hope you have a warm
heart despite the cold weather. Of course,
for some of our readers you are experiencing
summer. So, enjoy the weather wherever you
live.
I need your help. I need more
CWMs to be interviewed. If you are willing
to be interviewed I will email you the questions.
It is practically painless. If you are interested
send an email to Kimberly@kimberlychastain.com
and put Interview in the subject heading.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Interview
I appreciate Amy taking time
to be interviewed for this month. Amy is a
married 37 year old Mom who lives in the United
States. She has two daughters ages 4 and 8.
Amy is a Biomedical Researcher.
Amy shares the following joys
of being a Christian Working Mom:
I enjoy my work and I like being
able to set a positive example for my children
and help with household finances, but I think
my greatest joy is being able to help/support/encourage/commiserate
with other moms, both Christian and non-Christian,
who are struggling to balance work and family.
We need to stick together and build each other
up!
Amy struggles with: Guilt. I
regularly beat myself up for not being able
to volunteer in my kids’ classrooms,
for not being able to attend evening events
at work, for falling into bed without having
said more than 20 words to my husband all
day, for other people’s (usually imagined)
opinions on my life…you name it, I can
feel guilty about it. I am my own worst enemy.
Amy’s Favorite Bible Verse
is: Proverbs 3:5-6…Trust in the Lord
with all your heart and lean not on your own
understanding. In all your ways acknowledge
Him, and He will direct your path.
God is teaching Amy several
things. She shares I have at times been so
bitter about being called to work outside
the home that I have missed other important
callings that God has placed in my life. It
is time for me to quit my whining and get
busy with the things He has for me to do!
God is also constantly reminding
me to trust Him and depend on Him instead
of on myself. Being a control-freakish sort
of a person, I require frequent lessons in
this.
Amy offers these words of encouragement
for other Christian Working Moms: As Christian
working moms, we tend to isolate ourselves
from other women, mistakenly thinking that
we are not as “good” as those
moms who are called to stay home with their
children or that we are completely alone in
our struggles. It is SO important to find
a small group of women with whom to share
your triumphs and challenges and laugh a bit
about the craziness of life. If you can’t
find a group, start one yourself…even
if you only meet once a month or once a quarter,
it makes a HUGE difference in your life.
Amy you offered so many excellent
insights. The Christian walk was never designed
to be done alone and we do desperately need
the support of other Christian women. Also,
as Christian women we often let the opinions
of others affect our lives more than the opinion
of God. We should seek his view on our lives
not the world. Thanks so much for sharing.
Final Thoughts
May I encourage you to rest
in your Holy Savior and seek His presence?
We are all very busy, but time with God is
never wasted.
Till next time,
Kimberly M. Chastain
