I am writing this from the warmth of my home (Thank God no power outages, yet) from the snowy, Southeastern United States. We almost never get snow and we got from 7 to 9 inches. Needless to say no one is going anywhere. I saw a sign posted on the internet saying Everything Canceled till Snow is gone. Pretty accurate. Who knows my children could be out of school for a week. I have to admit I’m enjoying the slower pace and not being able to go anywhere. It is nice to be a little more relaxed. I hope the weather is good where you are.

Welcome to our new CWM subscribers and to 2011. Wow, the years seem to be coming quicker as I get older. May this year be one of encouragement for all of us as we grow in our walk with Christ.

Article – New Year’s Resolution

How are you doing with the New Year’s Resolutions you made? Did you make any resolutions? As Christians one of the most important resolutions we can make regards our walk with Christ which includes all areas of our lives.

Our life’s resolution as a Christian is pretty clear. Let’s look at 1 Corinthians 10:31, “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

Everything we do can be done in a way that glorifies God that includes: laundry, changing diapers, shoveling snow, working with a difficult boss, and the list goes on. We need to be purposeful about realizing everything we do can and should be an act of worship.

Can I also encourage you to make a goal for 2011 to know God better? None of us can really know God in all of His glory, because He is so magnificent. We can learn more about His character and who He is. Often, our prayers become mostly focused on us and our needs. A good portion of our prayer time needs to be a time of praise and worship to our Savior and Creator. One thing I have learned recently is the more time I spend worshipping God and focusing on Him the less I’m concerned about the problems in my life. I sense God’s peace and sovereignity and that He is in control.

If you can only spend 15 minutes of day in worshipping God I guarantee you will experience a change in your life. You will be more at peace. If you would like todig a little deeper in your study of God and His word, subscribe to the CWM coaching tips. You will receive an email a day with a short devotional and suggestions in growing in your faith. To find out more, go to: http://www.kimberlychastain.com/cwmtips.htm.

I pray by the end of 2011 you will be able to say you know God better than you did at the end of 2010. That is a worthy New Year’s Resolution.

Final Thoughts
