Welcome

I hope you are enjoying your summer. I truly enjoy having no homework over the summer and a more relaxing schedule. Hope you are able to make some memories with your children this summer.

I need your help. I would love to have more CWMs to interview. So many of you have said how much you enjoy the CWM interviews. I promise it is practically painless. If you are interested, send an email to Kimberly@kimberlychastain.com with interview in the subject heading and I will send you the questions.

Interview

Cheryl was gracious to take time to answer our questions for this month. Cheryl is a married 39 year old CWM who lives in the United States. She has 3 children, a daughter age 13, a son age 12, and a daughter age 3. Cheryl is a designer/teacher.

Cheryl shares some of the joys in being a CWM: Sharing Christian values in my work, outside my home….taking opportunities to teach my children the importance in working together doing tasks around the house because mom works too, being able to pay the bills (most of the time)

What are your struggles as a CWM? Paying the bills, managing my home, when I am not there, being in a “corporate” environment that isn’t always positive, and no time to do other things.

Favorite Bible Verse: Phil 3:12-15, “12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you.”

What is God teaching you right now? Growing closer to him and putting my expectations aside and focus on what He would have me to do/be.

Words of Encouragement for other Christian Working Moms: You are not alone, allow others to chip in and help and be open to chipping in and helping when there is a gap.

What are some of the things you have learned by being a Mom that you wouldn’t have known if you didn’t have children? Greater love that goes beyond that of your spouse, great responsibility and be open to learning from mistakes made, I do have a nurturing side.

Thanks Cheryl for sharing this month. One thing you mentioned that really spoke to me is allowing others to help us. Sometimes we are afraid to ask for help when we need it. In the body of Christ we called to carry one another’s burdens.

Final Thoughts

Ask your children to tell you a joke today, if they are old enough? Preschooler jokes can be really funny. Learn to laugh with your children. Sometimes as parents we are way too serious.

Till next time,
