Interview
Final Thoughts
Welcome
I do pray that you are allowing God
to control every area of your life.
Often CWM’s tell me how alone and isolated they
feel. I had the idea of prayer partners. We could
have one woman matched with another woman and through
email they could share their prayer requests and commit
to pray for one another. I’m not really sure
how this would be organized. This is just the brainstorming
stage. So, if you interested or have some ideas on
how to organize this, go to http://christianworkingmoms.blogspot.com
and look for the Prayer Partners comment. If you are
new to the CWM community, welcome. My prayer is this
website, email newsletters, blog, and bible study
will be a place of encouragement and strength. Also,
that we will seek God’s direction in everything
we do. To read past CWM Interviews or articles, you

Blog/Online Bible Study
We continue to have some good discussions
on the CWM Blog. Feel free to drop by and share any
concerns or questions you may have. I truly appreciate
how we can help one another. The Online Bible Study
can be found at http://cwmbiblestudy.blogspot.com.
There are 7 lessons posted. I’m still working
on the 8th lesson.
Interview
Lynn is a 30 year old CWM who lives
in the US. She has a daughter age 4 and she has been
married for 9 years. Lynn co-owns, with her mother,
the bridal collection at www.coloradobridalcollection.com.
They sell wedding dresses, rent tuxedos, etc. Lynn
currently has 23 employees.
Lynn shares the following joys of being
a CWM: My daughter is exposed to a lot more situations
and opportunities for education through my business.
She is guided and influenced by many women of different
ages and in varying walks with the Lord. I am able
to teach her financial wisdom, giving to others, being
a great leader, and how to care for others. The financial
benefits my business provides allows my husband and
I to afford to send her to a private Christian school.
I also am able to learn from other Christian mothers
that I work with.
Lynn struggles with: BALANCE! I often
feel I am sacrificing one thing for another. There
is never enough of me to go around. My church does
not have a good support group for working Moms, or
women business owners. I often feel wistful when I
see Moms volunteering at VBS, or discussing their
summer plan for day trips with their kids. I have
to plan my days with a color coded calendar by the
hour, to make sure that I stay on top of things and
give a good amount of time to all of my responsibilities.
I know that in my heart that it is God’s will
to lead my business, but sometimes I feel that I am
going against the flow of what a Christian mother
should do.
Her favorite Bible verse is: Romans
8:28 And we know that in all things God works for
the good of those who love Him, who have been called
according to his purpose.
Lynn shares God is teaching her, to
be still and let God show me the way. Not to worry.
To enjoy where I am and be at peace with Him.
Lynn offers these words of encouragement
for other Christian Working Moms: Persevere, listen
to what God is telling you. Don’t stop educating
yourself, so you can continue to learn and grow. Find
a support group, and/or a mentor. Keep Sundays as
the Sabbath, just a day for faith and family. Know
in your heart of hearts that God has called you to
be a mother, the greatest job of all!
Lynn also says I appreciate having an
online network of women to share with and learn from,
to encourage each other, and educate each other. Your
work is invaluable. I would love to be a member of
an online small group or chat room. Also, if you know
of another mother and business owner who might be
interested in being a mentor, I would love her contact
information. If you want to contact Lynn, you can
find her information through her website.
I appreciate Lynn for taking time to
share her wisdom with us. I agree it is hard to be
still and let God show us the way. In our fast paced
society, being still is often the hardest thing to
do.
Final Thoughts
If you choose to have trick or treaters
at your house for Halloween I would encourage you
to use this as a time to witness to your neighbors.
There are all kinds of neat tracts that you can buy
and slip in the bags with your candy. Just a thought
for you to consider. My children love filling Samaritan’s
Purses shoeboxes each year. We have so much fun selecting
what will go in those boxes. The cut-off date to get
boxes to a shipping center is November 12th –
19th. You can find out more at http://samaritanspurse.org.
They also have a gift catalog and you can purchase
chickens for a family and other items. This is a great
way to help your children reach out to others and
show the love of Christ to someone in a different
country.
