Newly Released Book

Do you look for God events in your daily activities? What do I mean by God events? God events are where God shows up in ways we don’t expect. He works in our lives on a daily basis. Often we don’t notice or don’t give Him credit. I love how God will surprise us with a certain situation working out in ways we could have never fathomed. That is always a clear sign to me God’s hand was involved. So, can I encourage you to look for ways God is actively involved in your life. Make sure He gets all the praise and glory for His work in your life.

Prayer Partner Needed and Suggestions for CWM

I did match 2 CWMs as prayer partners, but I have another CWM who would like a prayer partner as well. So, if you are interested in being a prayer partner to another CWM send an email to Kimberly@kimberlychastain.com with Prayer Partner in the subject heading and I will connect you with another Mom.

The CWM website has now been around for at least 10 years maybe longer (I haven’t aged one bit, just kidding!). I looking for suggestions of things that have been helpful to you and additional things you would like to see on the website. So, basically I’m asking you what you would like to see. So, please send me an email to Kimberly@kimberlychastain.com with Suggestions in the subject heading. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Interview

I appreciate Corey for taking the time to be interviewed this month. Corey has been married for 11 years and lives in the United States. She has a 6 year old boy and a 2 year old girl. Corey is a Human Resources Manager at a Financial Services Company.

Corey shares the following joys in being a Christian Working Mom: I get to use the gifts and interests that God gave me to help others. I love meeting new people every day and making them feel welcome at my company. I also enjoy being able to use my education and my creativity at work. I think I appreciate the time I get to spend with my kids more because I have to be away from them during the week.

Corey struggles as a Christian Working Mom when: A lot of the moms in my town stay at home with their kids and I am not able to socialize with them very often because activities are scheduled during the day. There is also very little support in my church community for working moms. I don’t get to attend every event that I would like to at my children’s schools and we never seem to have enough time to play in the evenings.

Favorite Bible Verse: Philippians 1:6

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

What is God teaching you right now? God is teaching me that even though I am working very hard to help provide for my young family and things usually feel quite hectic, the most important areas of life are my relationships with God and with my family. God wants me to slow down and enjoy my children – the house doesn’t have to be perfect, but my kids need to know that they are my treasure and God is my source of strength.

Words of Encouragement for other Christian Working Moms: No matter what you are going through as a working mom, there are other moms out there who understand. Sometimes it can feel very isolating when there aren’t a lot of other working moms in your church or your neighborhood. But through forums like these, we can connect with each other and support each other. And know that Jesus is always with you and he cares about all of your circumstances!

Anything else you would like to share: I have a website and a blog for working moms at www.marketplacemom.com. I would love for you to visit my site, ask a question or read my blog!

Corey, I appreciate you sharing and reminding us we are not alone as CWMs. I certainly know we can feel like we are alone, but we are never alone as children of God.

Final Thoughts

Help your children to look for God events in their own lives. In fact, they may have better eyes to see His work than we do as adults. As a family you can keep a record of how God has worked in your lives. What a treasure to leave for your children.

Till next time,
